James L. Maswick, known to his friends as “Jamey,” joined Flink Smith as a law clerk in May of 2007. He is now an associate attorney with Flink Smith and primarily works on personal injury, insurance defense, property transactions, and criminal defense cases.
Jamey is a Capital District native, graduating from Scotia-Glenville High School in 2002. He then attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, graduating in 2006 Magna Cum Laude, double-majoring in Government and Economics. During college, Jamey spent semesters in Washington, DC at American University and in Copenhagen, Denmark at the København Universitet (University of Copenhagen), Denmark International Study program. He was a member of the Dean’s List six of eight eligible semesters. Jamey is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and during college participated on St. Lawrence’s cross-country running, indoor, and outdoor track teams.
Jamey attended Albany Law School, graduating in 2009. He was an active member of Albany Law Review during his second and third years, and was a quarterfinalist in the Dominck L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition in 2007. Jamey was on the Dean’s List in Spring of 2009.
In his free time, Jamey enjoys running and cycling as well as alpine and nordic skiing in the winter.
